Do you often feel the urge to do something useful or productive?
Although India boasts of over 1.5 Million NGO’s,
it is critical that there is a “fit” between
the needs of the volunteer and the NGO.
India
Rural Tours identifies NGO’s that do path breaking
work in rural areas and also provide suitable work to
volunteers. Apart from providing the right fit and placement,
we will also:
- Perform
an orientation for a potential volunteer.
- Prepare
a comprehensive program depending on the tenure of the
work, interests of the volunteer and requirements of
the NGO.
- Assist
the volunteer with all other support he may need such
as travel arrangements, needs of an interpreter, sight
seeing etc.
- Perform
an evaluation post the project.
Below
are some of the NGO’s we have identified that are
carrying on exemplarary work in backward rural districts
and have helped the local tribal people to improve their
quality of life. They regularly receive volunteers from
all over the world, but due to the vast work carried out
in various fields such as Leprosy eradication, mentally
challenged, old age, education or infrastructure development,
there is always a need for volunteers, funds and expertise
in all fields.
We
are in the process of identifying more such NGO’s.
